Why I Get It
(Because I've Lived It)
Hi! I’m Pamela Marcela Sánchez, a health coach for midlife women.
My path to health coaching didn't start from scratch, it grew from 25+ years working in healthcare, public health, and health promotion. I've spent my career in community engagement, strategic partnerships, program development, and evidence-based health education. I'm a published author and have presented nationally on culturally tailored public health programs with real, measurable outcomes.
After 10+ years of unexplained symptoms, high blood pressure, IBS, hormone imbalances, and multiple surgeries, I was told to "manage" with medications. Instead, I searched for root causes and found an integrative approach to managing my health and sanity.
Along the way, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200-hour) and a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC) through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy.
I value Health, Self-Respect, Family and Happiness. These values, along with my leading strengths of Love of Learning, Kindness, Spirituality, Gratitude, and Hope, show up in every conversation we have.
I show up to this work with a calm, welcoming, and nurturing presence. I believe deeply in building real relationships rooted in trust, because lasting change doesn't happen without it.
I am a first-generation Latina, and my identity is woven into everything I do. I carry a deep appreciation for my family, my culture, and the lived experiences of my parents' journey, the sacrifices they made and the resilience they modeled. That foundation shapes how I show up for the women with whom I work: with warmth, with grit, and with genuine care.
Outside of coaching, my happiest moments are the ones spent laughing and making memories with my two daughters. You'll also find me outdoors walking my two dogs, finding solice in music, and joy in dancing. I love the feeling of sand between my toes, wind in my hair, and sun on my face; but my favorite season is Fall, when the Northeast trees shift into their beautiful colors and the air carries that quiet promise of change. There's something in that transition I've always loved and it feels a lot like the work I do.
